Choose a tree and photograph its whole form from a safe distance.

Inspect the root flare, soil, mulch depth, and nearby pavement.

Observe bark damage, cavities, ties, rubbing branches, and pests.

Look up to assess canopy balance, deadwood, and leaf condition.

Measure trunk circumference and record location and date.
- 6
Choose monitor, water, correct mulch, or request an arborist as the next action.
