Adult extension of: Recycling Activities in the Garden - Part 2
Adults work in job roles to turn reclaimed materials into one functional garden system, then test whether it is stable, understandable, and maintainable.
01 · Learning
Objectives
- Select reclaimed materials based on function and condition.
- Build from a measured sketch using assigned team roles.
- Test, revise, label, and explain the completed system.
02 · Preparation
Materials
Clean bottles, untreated sticks, sturdy containers, cord, soft ties, washers, labels, measuring tape, hand tools, PPE, soil and demonstration plants as needed, design and test sheets.
03 · Practice

Choose a trellis, slow-water prototype, or portable garden station.

Sketch dimensions and list every material before construction.

Assign measuring, materials, assembly, safety, and documentation jobs.

Build the prototype using facilitator-controlled cutting and drilling.

Test stability, water flow, plant clearance, and ease of maintenance.
- 6
Revise weak points and add use, inspection, and retirement labels.
